11 more days

Only 11 more days until I move! The days seem to be going by really fast, trying to pack and get everything in order, I'm moving to bollingbrook Illinois on 15th maybe the 16th of january, depending on when my uncle can drive down to help us move. My mom and my sister are going to drive down and stop once or twice at a hotel, me and my uncle will be driving the moving truck all 18 hours only stopping for a few rest breaks, (and maybe ill get to drive the truck!!). I will miss alot of people here in new york, but there are alot of things I wont miss, and I'm sure there will be alot of new things waiting for me in Illinois (like Midwest Furfest).

I'm part of a sub-culture known as Furries, (Anthropomorphic Art and life), I'm buying a fursuit (black white grey Siberian husky) for 400 dollars, which is a good price because suits normally range from 1000 to 10,000 dollars depending on the complexity of the suit, these suits are handmade of faux fur and can be pretty costly. I'm going to attend Midwest Furfest, a Furry convention on Chicago IL November 20th and Anthrocon '09 in July in Pittsburgh PA. I have been posting my art on a website where I have almost 400 views and many watchers, I'm starting to get a few requests to buy my art as well!! 2nd week of Marriot Internship in a row!

12/2 Second week of being at the marriot consistantly, I was lucky and was assigned to the engineering department again, Derek was glad I was there to assist him. The main director of engineering from a few hotels was coming for an inspection and derek had to go get a few things from a local hardware store, the shop was a bit messy so I cleaned it up for him. After he got back we went down to the loading dock and he and I evacuated the run-off drain of all the sludge, leaves, and cigarette butts...making the loading dock look much more presentable...Although I did get a bunch of the sludge on my pants, I was still glad to be helping Derek out in the engineering department. After I got back to my homeschool I got a pass to walk home and grab a new pair of pants (I live right across the street)...so it was like a free 20 minute break! Then it was back to class for a few more hours and then back home again.

Marriot Internship

11/25 I went to the marriot for the first time in a while... I hung out with Derek the director of engineering, he showed me around the hotel and around the engineering department, but because it was so early in the day there wasnt much for me to do so basically it was a walk around. We went down and talked to a guy from Otis who happened to be working in an elevator shaft...He didnt have much to say other then he couldnt believe how so much junk got down there. After that we went to the pool room, derek told me about the heater being broke and thats why it was so empty. I think he mentioned something about waiting for a part to come in to fix it. It was a short day but it was nice to be going back to the marriot after some recent illness.

Sick Day / My job at Taco Bell

During the month of October I was absent for some internships and lodging management classes due to an illness so today I'm going to write about what happened briefly and then write about my experience at my job Taco Bell. Well it started around mid October, I thought I was getting a bad cold but then as days progressed on I noticed it was getting worse. I was having a harder time breathing and I was sleeping for 11 hours/day but was up all night coughing, so I went to my doctor who told me I had Bronchitis, I was then put on some antibiotics. A day after I started the treatment I started to get some sores on my upper and lower lips which began to get worse and start to split and bleed. It was an allergic reaction to the medicine I was prescribed, I then had to go back to the doctor get a new antibiotic for the bronchitis...and one for the reaction to the other medicine. About a week and a half later, I'm starting to recover and I'm back in class.
About six months ago I started looking for a job, I applied at many stores and fast food restaurants but none replied, until i applied at Taco Bell in Clifton park, where I was hired on the spot, the previous manager liked my enthusiasm and my interest to get working. About a week after I was hired, my manager mike had quit, and we got a new manager Matt, hes a nice, helpful, all around fun guy, and a good manager as well, He trained me on all of the different stations there were, as well as worked with me during the everyday lunch rush. A few months later I'm studying for my crew trainer test, to earn the promotion and a raise, and then hopefully work my way up to shift manager in the next couple of months. There is a good amount of people that work at Taco Bell in Clifton park, some extremely nice, and others you keep your distance from, you won't always like everyone you work with but as long as you like someone there and the job itself, you can always find a way to make it through the day. I have worked day shifts as well as night, openings and closings, the worst is a night shift when there is a huge concert going on and everyone wants taco bell once its over. But we get through it. Unsure of how long I will be there, but for now Taco Bell is a great job to make a little extra money.
